A new garden shed and greenhouse built in relation to mountainous terrain in the garden of a young Norwegian family.

A single-storey building was split into two spaces with different degrees of transparency to accommodate two different programmatic requirements; an opaque shed at the back for storage and a transparent greenhouse at the front for growing plants and hanging out.

The building’s form curves to follow the landscape at the site’s northernmost edge where the steep mountain terrain meanders west. This allows the building to be placed towards the back of site, thereby retaining the best views from the garden out to the mountainside to the north and the valley to the east.

The building is a simple timber frame structure that was prefabricated at Tutturen Farm before being reassembled on site.
